Tom

Tom Lutener

Hearing Aid Audiologist BSc (Hons) OST RHAD MSHAA

Tom started his working life as an Osteopath. Following numerous commercial roles in the medical industry, he found himself working for one of the hearing aid manufacturers as an Account Manager, looking after Audiologists both in the private, NHS, and national chain sectors. Tom quickly realised that he missed the one-to-one interaction with patients and found the hearing field fascinating. He, therefore, retrained as an audiologist. With his commercial knowledge and armed with degrees in Physiology (function of the body), Osteopathy, and Hearing Aid Audiology he brings a wealth of knowledge in the hearing industry to Spain. He is a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser (RHAD) and Member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (MSHAA).

Trainee Audiologist

Since leaving college at 18 years old with my administrative management diploma, I have been working in various roles, all of which have involved dealing with the public. I always felt that supporting people in improving their quality of life was important to me. For the last 8 years, this had always been through the Realtor industry. It was not until February 2022, when my mother started working at Protea Wellness Audiology, that the hearing industry caught my attention. Understanding and researching the role of a Hearing Aid Audiologist, gave me a real insight and I feel that my background and my deep passion for helping people play perfectly into the Hearing Aid Audiologist. In September 2024, I will embark on the foundation degree at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge to obtain my professional title. With this degree plus the practical clinic experience, I will be fully qualified in June 2026.
